AFCOM Community Projects:

  • Nonprofit collaborations: We provide a consistent supply of volunteers to our organization partners
  • “Options” Youth Workshops: We facilitate life skills workshops for incarcerated, runaway, homeless or disadvantaged youth in group homes, youth shelters and other youth programs
  • Food Initiatives: Involve soup kitchen work, free food and grocery dissemination at larger outreach events 
  • Resource Drives: Through our Backpack Drives and collaborations with international organizations we amass and disseminate necessary supplies, food, toiletries, school supplies, children’s’ books and new articles of clothing such as hats, gloves socks, underwear to youth locally and internationally. 
  • Community Outreach Events: We host outreach events that provide food, groceries, backpacks, health services and inspirational entertainment to the community
  • Leadership Training: We provide leadership training to youth between 14-22 years of age through the AFCOM Youth Council program.

Through these efforts, AFCOM partners with non-profit organizations in southern Westchester and throughout New York establishing long lasting working collaborations. The organization is blessed to have qualified staff and board members whose past and present experiences enable the organization to effectively approach many community ills with expectations of success. Our staff has already established connections and partnerships with various non profit organizations in Westchester and has worked extensively on sundry community service projects to date. Our board has a strong strategic presence and is well versed in accounting practices, law, non profit administration and have also worked in community service programs either professionally or recreationally.
